Human Psionic Emergence
Human Psionic Emergence
Overview
Dormant psionic potential exists in a significant minority of humans. Following a sequence of large-scale neurological and reality-adjacent events across S1 and S2, this potential is activating in individuals with no prior warning and no predictive marker. The emergence is not controlled, not uniform, and not led by any unified authority.
Triggers (Confirmed)
Three events are identified as the primary catalysts:
- Ghost Signal exposure: The Ghost Signal broadcast at S1 B2 Ch25 / B3 Ch01 carried a psionic carrier wave component. Extended or repeated exposure appears to have primed neurological architecture in susceptible individuals.
- Fenn's neurological integration: Corporal Fenn's permanent directional auditory signal to the Observer vessel (B4–B5) is the first confirmed stable human psionic case. His survival and functional integration demonstrated that human neurology could carry a sustained psionic channel without degradation, and established a template that the emergence now appears to follow in variant forms.
- Rael's distributed state in the Leviathan archive: Veyna Rael's distribution into the Leviathan archive at B5 created a persistent psionic presence within the archive network. The mechanism by which this has influenced dormant human psionic potential is not yet mapped. That it has is observed, not explained.
These three triggers are likely interacting, not independent.
Nature of the Emergence
- Activates in a significant minority of humans, not a majority; not a rare edge case
- No reliable predictive marker has been identified prior to activation
- Capabilities vary by individual: no single taxonomy confirmed yet
- The emergence does not follow the Fenn model precisely in most cases, Fenn's directional signal is stable and specific; emergent cases are less stable and less specific
- Some emergent individuals report temporal fragmentation consistent with Riftborn timeline interference, whether this is coincidence, causation, or a shared underlying mechanism is unknown at S3 open
Earliest Confirmed Stable Case
Corporal Fenn, permanent directional auditory signal toward the Observer vessel; functionally stable; cleared for active duty (B5). Fenn is not typical of the broader emergence but is the point from which all subsequent cases are understood. His stability makes him a reference point, not a model.
Political and Social Threat
Non-psionic humans fear the emergent minority. Fracture lines are forming within the alliance, between psionic-emergent and non-psionic populations across all human factions (Free Legion, Orion Remnant, Martian Accord, and unaligned groups). The emergent minority has no unified leadership, no shared political identity, and no agreed framework for what they are or what rights attach to their status.
This makes them a volatile internal threat: not organised enough to be engaged as a faction, not invisible enough to be ignored, and not trusted enough by non-psionic humans to be integrated without political cost.
Taxonomy
Full taxonomy is TBD, to be developed in S3 writing. This file is a stub. Capability classifications, stability gradients, and any sub-categories of emergent type are to be established as S3 outlines are written and confirmed by the author before use in any manuscript.
